Iain spent his early years in the Middle Eastern country of Oman before moving to the small village of Banchory in the chilly North-East of Scotland. Aged 18, he moved to Glasgow to study Audio Engineering and later started up his own company supporting manufacturers in their international markets.

By his early 30’s, Iain found a life of airports and boardrooms to be lacking in adventure. He dreamt of bigger challenges and after being introduced to several online sailing channels, the idea for Red Seas was born.

Iain is very logical and technically-minded, and many believe that his brain operates purely in binary code. His engineering mindset and ridiculously optimistic outlook stands us in good stead for a life on the ocean.
